Why are blue light glasses so important ?

What is blue light?

Blue light is a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that constitutes visible light. Blue light consists of short, high-energy waves ranging from 380 to 500 nm in wavelength. While the sun is the most intense and significant source of blue
light, modern light sources like displays, screens, and LED bulbs have significantly increased our daily exposure to artificial blue light

Your eyes aren't naturally equipped to filter out blue light. While blue light isn't
entirely harmful and can actually enhance your mood and regulate your sleep-wake cycle, prolonged use of digital devices up close can contribute to digital eye strain. This is because blue light scatters more easily than other types of light, which your eyes may interpret as 'visual noise,' making it harder to focus. Additionally, longitudinal chromatic aberrations of blue light can lead to visual discomfort.

The solution ?

Blue light glasses

They protect your eyes from strain by filtering out harmful blue light emitted by screens. This reduces discomfort, eye fatigue, and helps maintain better sleep patterns, ensuring clearer vision and improved overall eye health
